HAMPSTEAD – Rose Anita Cappiello of Hampstead, North Carolina, passed away unexpectedly on Sept. 8, 2016 at the age of 74.
She was born and raised in East Harlem, New York to the late Paul and Jean Nocella.
On Dec. 15, 1968, she married the love of her life, Richard Cappiello, also from East Harlem and moved to Long Island where they welcomed and raised their daughter. After spending 35 years on Long Island, Rose and Richard retired followed by a move to Hampstead in 2005. Rose and Richard enjoyed a 46 year marriage until his passing in 2015.
In addition to her parents and beloved husband, she was preceded in death by a sister, Nanette Towne and her brother-in-law Louis Cappiello.
She leaves behind her daughter and son in law, Dora and Giovanni Lobo of Jacksonville, North Carolina, and her three grandsons whom she adored; Alexander, Casey and Matthew.
Mrs. Cappiello is also survived by her sister and brother-in-law, Arlene and Harold Cohen of Beacon New York, her sister-in-law Sarah Cappiello of Glouceser, Virginia, along with her nieces and nephews.
Her family’s hearts are broken, she will be dearly missed by family, friends and all that came to know kindness and generosity.
A celebration of her life is scheduled for Sept. 16, 2016 at 1 p.m. at All Saints Catholic Church, 18737 Highway 17N, Hampstead, NC 28543.
