HAMPSTEAD – Karen Anna Vose, affectionately known as “Grammy Carrots,” passed away peacefully in her home, under the loving care of her daughters, on Friday Sept. 23, 2016.

Born in Putnam, Connecticut, she most recently resided in Hampstead, North Carolina.  She retired as an Executive Secretary.

She is co-founder of Hot Mess Studios, sharing her love of art, pottery and beauty with those around her.  She enjoyed reading stories to the children with her dog, Sebastian.  She also loved to visit the local schools; watching the children have fun painting and being creative was one of her greatest joys.

She was blessed with two daughters, Alison Dumas Connors and Andrea Dumas Jacquot and their seven children, Tyler, Tanner, Madi, Nate, Meadow, Raymond, and Adrienne.

She was surrounded by her grandchildren and family every single day, never once did she face her battle with cancer alone, she was courageous, strong and truly an inspiration to all those who met her.

She is also survived by her brother Nelson Vose and wife Barbara, nieces, nephews and longtime life partner and friend, Richard Dumas.

A celebration of her life will be held Thursday, Sept. 29, from 6-8 p.m., Hot Mess Studios, 6005 Oleander Dr. Wilmington, NC 28403.
