SUPPLY — John Burgwin Hewett Jr., 54, left this world Oct. 30, 2016, at his home in Supply, N.C., surrounded by his wife and family after losing his battle with cancer. He was a hardworking, Budweiser drinking, NASCAR loving, pig cookin’ kind of guy. He was kindhearted. He loved being “Paw-Paw” to the grandkids.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John Burgwin Hewett Sr. and Ruby Harwood Hewett, and his sister, Vinita “Vee” Thorndyke.
He is survived by his wife, Sharon Hewett; son, John Collin Hewett of Charlotte; step-sons, Zachary Hicks of Raleigh and Travis Ferguson (Summer) of Galveston, Texas; step-daughter, Heather Butler (Andrew) of Chesterfield, Va.; brothers, Darrell Hewett (Anna) of Simpsonville, S.C., Alan Hewett (Renee) of Fountain Inn, S.C. and Bryan Hewett (Melissa) of Supply; and two grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m., Saturday, Nov. 5, 2016, at the Brunswick Funeral Service Chapel. The family will receive friends from 1 until 2 p.m. at the funeral home and at Mr. Hewett’s home following the service.
