WILMINGTON — Mark Wagoner, 48, of Wilmington, passed away Sunday, Oct. 30, 2016.
Mere words seem inadequate to sum up the life of Mark Wagoner. Perhaps, the simplicity of this can in some way help to capture a bit of him. He never wanted to be in the spotlight. Often to a fault, he put the needs, desires, and dreams of everyone else ahead of his own. This was especially true for those he loved. Mark was a kind, compassionate, supportive, self-sacrificing, and humble son, friend, and husband and will be missed by many.
Mark was preceded in death by his parents, William and Madeline Wagoner. He is survived by his wife Cheryl Wagoner and many dear friends. He was a Wilmington native and a lifelong active member of St. Paul’s Episcopal Church.
A memorial service to celebrate the life of Mark Hampton Wagoner will be held at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, Wilmington NC on Thursday, Nov. 3 at 3:00 pm followed by a reception in the Parish Hall.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to St. Paul’s Episcopal Church or to the “William and Madeline Wagoner Excellence Scholarship” at UNCW.
God’s Peace.
