

WILMINGTON – Geneva Louise Willis, 84, of Wilmington, passed away Saturday, Aug. 20, 2016 at her residence.
Born Jan. 12, 1932, in Fayetteville, she is a daughter of the late Frank L. Cook and Mila Etta Brown Cook. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Arthur Rex Willis; her brother, Ralph Cook; and her sisters, Virginia Dare Wright and Betty Jane Scott; and her brother-in-law, Franklin Scott.
She is survived by her son, Randy Willis and his wife, Ellen; her grandson, Brian Willis; her brothers, Buddy Cook and his wife, Joan, and Lawrence Cook and his wife, Barbara; her sister, Cookie Mercer; and her nephews, Bill Scott and Ken Scott.
She graduated from Seventy-First High School in Fayetteville and went on to achieve her BA in English from George Mason University. She was active in her community and loved to be around people. In her leisure, she loved to read, take walks, bird watch and gardening – especially flowers.
Services are private and at the convenience of the family.
