OCEAN ISLE BEACH — Cathi Lynn DeBusk , age 57, of Ocean Isle Beach, N.C., passed away on Monday, Nov. 7, 2016, at the Grand Strand Regional Medical Center Myrtle Beach, S.C.
She was born in Columbia, Tenn. on Oct. 21, 1959, the daughter of Martha Jane B. Cox of Benton, Ill. and the late Robert E. Cox.
Cathi graduated Suma Cum Laude from Tusculum University in Knoxville, Tenn., in 2004, with a degree in teaching and a degree in Special Education. Her love was helping children with learning disabilities.
Surviving in addition to her mother are her husband, Jerry W. DeBusk of the home; two daughters, Carli Whaley and husband, Jay of Knoxville, Tenn., and Laura Poupore and husband, Kevin of Zebulon, N.C.; one sister, Debbie Pritchard and husband Mike of Benton, Ill.; one brother, Greg Cox also of Knoxville, Tenn.; four grandchildren, Zoe Flenniken, Ella Clark, Norah Beth Clark, and Matilda Poupore.
A celebration of her life will be held in Knoxville, Tenn., on Nov. 19, 2016.
