

WILMINGTON — Herbert Randall Waters was born Aug. 16, 1953, in Greenville, N.C. Randy grew up in many places including the Bahamas, Italy, and Chester, Va., but considered Wilmington his home.
Randy received a BA and MA in Fine Arts from the University of Maryland, where he was a member of the wrestling and football teams. He received his MBA from the University of Kentucky. Early in his career, Randy designed and remodeled the first equine aquatic therapy center in the United States at Calumet Horse Farm in Lexington, Ky..
For 10 years, he worked for Telesis Ventures in Wilmington, and later spent 10 years at Nick Garrett Construction as an estimator and construction manager. Most recently, Randy worked as a lead estimator and project manager at Native Construction in the Florida Keys. Currently Randy was assisting Trevor with Lanphear Builders on local projects.
Randy is survived by his wife, Adrienne Folker Waters, and his parents, Herbert and Barbara Waters of Danville, Ky. He leaves a daughter, Ashley Gordon, and husband Brad of Roswell, Ga., and four grandchildren, Isabella, Reece, Sophia, and James. Randy is also survived by his brother Christopher Waters, brother Jonathan Waters and wife Sandy, nephews Aaron Waters, Jared Waters, and Isaac Waters and wife, Stephanie, niece Rachel Waters, and great-nephew Abram Waters.
A celebration of life will be held on Friday, Nov. 11, at 4 p.m. at the home of Alison and Frank Bernhart, 2025 Pelican Reach Place, Wilmington, N.C. Directions will be made available at the Landfall Arboretum Gate on Military Cutoff Road. Dress is casual.
