HAMPSTEAD — Jacob Wayne Watkins, 15, of Hampstead died as the result of a congenital heart defect on Friday, Nov. 11, 2016.
Jacob was born in Wilmington on Aug. 7, 2001, to Jarrod W. and Dee Watkins. He was a freshman at Topsail High School. Jacob loved life and enjoyed skateboarding, music and fishing.
Surviving in addition to his parents are his brother, Nikolas Watkins; stepsister, Tiffani Westbury; niece, Skylar Westbury; paternal grandfather, Wayne Watkins, and wife, Becky, of Hampstead; paternal grandmother, Judy Hall of Currie; great-grandfathers George Mallcheck and Robert Hall; great-grandmother, Lottie Rogers (Joseph); aunts, Bonnie Mallcheck (Shane Harris) and Shannon Watkins; great-uncle, Gary Watkins; and great-aunt, Sherry Kittrell (Larry); girlfriend, Bridget McCarthy; and innumerable cousins and friends.
Memorial services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 19, at Livingstones Tabernacle, 127 Sloop Point Loop Road, Hampstead, NC 28443. Reverend Steve Spearing will officiate the service. Inurnment will be at a later date at Sea Lawn Memorial Park.
