WILMINGTON — Wm. Scott Vaughan passed from this life on his 46th birthday, Dec. 3, 2016. He had been a resident of Wilmington for the past 20 years. An avid surfer, he loved the waves of Wrightsville Beach and the culture and music of downtown Wilmington.
He was a graduate of Menchville High School in Newport News, Va., and of Barton College, formerly Atlantic Christian College, where he was a proud member of Sigma Phi Epsilon fraternity.
Scott was an avid sports fan. Surfing and soccer were lifelong passions. He was well known by all for his love of Blue Devil basketball and Hokie football. His infectious smile and magnetic personality brightened every room he entered. He left sandy footprints in all of our hearts and will be sorely missed.
He leaves behind his parents, L.T. and Pat Vaughan; sister, Cindy Vaughan; niece, Ashley Bennett; uncle and aunt, Doug and Charlotte Vaughan; and cousins, Whitney Miller and Doug Vaughan J., all residents of Virginia; and Tiffany Wagner, a special friend, as well as a host of his many friends all over the country.
His ashes will be taken back to Virginia for a service there. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 10, at Andrews Valley Chapel, 4108 South College Road, Wilmington.
In lieu of flowers, please send a gift in his name to your favorite charity.
