

WILMINGTON — Helen Mintz Howard, 82, died Monday, Dec. 26, 2016, at Lower Fear Hospice & LifeCareCenter.
Helen was born April 9, 1934, in Wilmington, N.C., daughter of the late Rodney and Edna Lee Mintz. Her husband, Joseph Paul Howard, and granddaughter, Elizabeth Alexis Howard, preceded her in death.
Helen was a very outgoing and friendly person who never met a stranger, and she loved Jesus.
She is survived by three children, sons, Joseph Paul Howard Jr. and Jeffrey Howard Sr., and his wife, Janice, all of Wilmington, and daughter, Jeanine Hudson, and her husband, Terry, of Ohio; and 10 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 29, at Andrews Valley Chapel, with the Rev. Floyd Morris officiating. Prior to the service, the family will receive friends from 10 a.m. until the service hour. Interment will follow in Forest Lawn Cemetery (off of Highway 17 South, near Bolivia).
