HAMPSTEAD — Sheryl “Sherrie” Lyons Bowen, 57, passed away Tuesday, Dec. 27, 2016, at New Hanover Regional Medical Center, Wilmington, N.C.
She was born June 1, 1959, to Jerry and Doris (Jobb) Tulis in Frederick, Md. She was a graduate of North Carolina State University and earned a masters degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. She worked as an environmental health specialist for Onslow County.
Sherrie is survived by her son, Nicholas, and daughter, Elizabeth. She was an avid music player in her church and loved animals, the beach, and being with her family.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 3, 2017, at the All Saints Catholic Church, Hampstead, N.C., with the Rev. John Durbin officiating.
In lieu of flowers, if you wish, donations may be made in her memory to the American Cancer Society.
