SOUTHPORT — Robert Louis Woolwich, 74, passed away Saturday, Jan. 7, 2017, at SECU Hospice of Brunswick in Bolivia.

Mr. Woolwich was born Nov. 29, 1942, son of the late Sidney and Edith James Woolwich. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force. Mr. Woolwich retired from New York Telephone Company and enjoyed his retirement years playing golf, traveling, and woodworking. He built a woodworking shop to enjoy his hobby of building cabinetry and furniture. He loved watching the New York Yankees and New York Giants while appreciating Southport as his home for 22 years.

Mr. Woolwich was preceded in death by his son, James John Woolwich.

Survivors include his wife, Monica Curley Woolwich of Southport; children, Robert Louis Woolwich Jr. of Wantagh, N.Y., and Kerry Ann Couture, and her husband, Pierre, of Garden City, N.Y.; grandchildren, Sarah and Julie Couture; sister, Doris Woolwich of San Jose, Calif.; sister-in-law, Eileen Sebber of Massapequa, N.Y.; several nieces and nephews; beloved canine companions, Coco and Noel; and feline companions, Blue, Fritz and Smokey.

Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Jan. 13, at Northwood Cemetery with military honors provided by the U.S. Air Force. The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 12, at Peacock-Newnam & White Funeral and Cremation Service, Southport.
