WILMINGTON — Clyde E. Joyner Jr., 78, entered his eternal home on Sunday, Jan. 8, 2017. He was born on Nov. 21, 1938, to the late Clyde E. Joyner Sr. and Lena Foy Joyner.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 57 years, Faye Matthews Joyner; devoted daughters, Kimberly Joyner, Suzanne Joyner Morales (Lee) and Lisa Joyner
Fitzgerald (Joe); three grandchildren, Jade Alexandra Morales, Jack Alexander Fitzgerald and Andrew (Drew) Barclay Fitzgerald, the greatest joys of his life; brothers, Robert Lee Joyner (Dora), Roy Vance Joyner (Donna) and Alfred Ray Joyner (Debra); and sister, Nancy Joyner Carroll.
Uncle Clyde had numerous nieces and nephews who looked up to him as the patriarch of the Joyner family. One special nephew, Ervin Dean Roberts,
who assisted the family in caring for Clyde.
He was preceded in death by sister, Francis Joyner Ellington.
Clyde was the owner of Joyner Supply Company, later named Johnstone Supply, until his retirement in 2003. After retirement, he enjoyed spending time with his wife, children, grandchildren, special friends at Pine Valley Country Club and his church family at Pine Valley Baptist Church and Central Church in Wilmington.
God granted Clyde the gifts of friendship, kindness and great generosity. He used his gifts to the fullest measure.
A visitation will be held from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday, Jan. 14, at Pine Valley Baptist Church. A funeral service will follow at noon with Pastor Tim Denny officiating. Entombment will be held in Oleander Memorial Gardens.
