WILMINGTON — Martha Lillian Barnhill, 90, died Thursday, Jan. 12, 2017, at New Hanover Regional Medical Center.
She was born in Sampson County, N.C., on June 19, 1927, the daughter of the late Alvin Addison Moore and Lina Elizabeth Rivenbark Moore. Also remembered are her husband, Horace W. Barnhill; brothers, James A. Moore and Lewis Moore; and sisters, Betty McPhail and Geraldine McMahan, all who preceded her in death.
Surviving are her sister, Edith Ottoway of Durham, N.C.; brother, Franklin Moore of Rose Hill, N.C.; and many nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Barnhill was a member of Liberty Baptist Church and retired from Bell South Telephone Company, where she worked for over 30 years.
The family will receive friends from 2 to 3 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 17, at Andrews Mortuary Valley Chapel with a funeral service beginning at 3 p.m. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Park.
