SNEADS FERRY — Hazel M. Park, 83, went to be with her Lord and Savior Tuesday, Jan. 24, 2017. She was born in Mount Union, Pa., to the late David E. and Harriet McConaughey.
Hazel was a remarkable woman with a big heart. It was amazing to see her big smile, so loving and warm. Hazel never knew a stranger. She will be sadly missed and forever in our hearts.
Also, preceding her in death were her devoted husband, Max Park; and sister, Clara Mae Hoffman.
Surviving Hazel is her daughter, Thelma “Thud” Gandy (Gary) of Sneads Ferry, N.C.; son, Dennis L. Park of Mapleton Depot, Pa.; brother, David McConaughey; sister, Anna; grandchildren, Aimee (Buddy), Chris (Erica), Abby (Kevin), Jason(Misty), Justin, Robert and Jamie; and nine great-grandchildren.
A life remembrance service will be held at 6 p.m., Saturday, Jan. 28, at Wilmington Funeral & Cremation, Hampstead Chapel. A separate memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 29, at Queens Creek United Methodist Church, 324 Hubert Blvd., Hubert, NC 28539.
