SUNSET BEACH — Laura “Jane” Reynolds, 88, died peacefully at her home Saturday, Feb. 4, 2017, with her family at her side.
Formerly of Fairfax, Va., Jane was born in Opelika, Ala., Feb. 28, 1928, to Mary and Jessie Smith. Her husband of 70 years, retired U.S. Navy Cdmr. Skip Reynolds, preceded her in death by five months.
She is survived by her children, Sandra (Margie) of Sunset Beach, N.C., Ranny (Ulli) of Palmyra, Va., Michael (Roni) of Bemidji, Minn., and Laura of Knightville, N.C.; brother, Joe (Linda) of Richmond, Va.; nieces, Jessica (Larry) of Fredericksburg, Va., Lucia (D.J.) of Richmond, Va., and Mary Vaughn (Will) of Norfolk, Va.; grandchildren, Erin (Clifford) of Reston, Va., Austin (Rene) of Alexandria, Va., Christopher (Sarah) of Lynchburg, Va., and Jessica (David) of Columbia, Md.; and great-grandchildren, Jack, Andrew, August and Isla Jane. Jane was a wonderful wife, mother, aunt, grandmother and great-grandmother who shall be missed by all.
Jane will be laid to rest with her husband at noon on Thursday, Feb. 9, in Sand Hills Cemetery, Fayetteville, N.C.
