SHALLOTTE — Aaron Michael Shreve, 42, departed this earthly world on Sunday, Feb. 5, 2017.
He was a Shallotte resident and was considered a local on Ocean Isle Beach and could often be found surfing there. He lived to travel the world visiting many legendary surf spots over the years. Surfing was truly his passion.
Aaron was born Oct. 17, 1974, in Pensacola, Fla., to Irene and Edward Shreve. The family relocated to Brunswick County, and soon after that, ultimately called it home.
Aaron is survived by both parents, Irene and Edward Shreve; sisters, Adrienne and Cary Cheers and Amber and Heath Canady. He also leaves behind his uncle, Larry; aunt, Joey Shreve; cousins, Chad, Matt and Tony; many nieces and nephews, Jacob, Kara, Kennedy, Catie and Cooper; aunt, Sandra Covert; and cousins, Robert, Michael and William.
He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, William and Betty Shreve of West Virginia; maternal grandparents, Rita and Ken Asher; aunt, Roberta Covert; uncle, Robert Covert; and his most faithful companion, his husky, Healy.
Aaron was fortunate to have many friends who will miss him.
A celebration of his life will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 11, at the Isle Restaurant in Ocean Isle Beach officiated by the Rev. Brett Barbee. A memorial paddle-out will be held after the services. Fellowship and lunch will follow at the Isle Restaurant.
