ASH — Louise S. Ashe, 83, died peacefully in hospice care in Bolivia, N.C., Sunday, March 5, 2017.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Maggie Schiefer of Indiana, Pa., and aunt, Evelyn Warren of Ash, who raised her to the age of 15. At that time, she moved to Pennsylvania, where she lived for the next 50 years, returning to her birth home to retire in later years and become an involved member of Shallotte Presbyterian Church and the Long Bay Garden Club. She enjoyed yard work at her home along with her three stocked fish ponds. She was also an avid Bridge player and enjoyed slow dancing with companion, Clark Grosch – an integral part of her later life and happiness.
She is survived by her son, Larry Ashe of Dallas, Texas; daughter, Lisa Kapsak, and her husband, Andy, of Glen Allen, Va.; grandsons, Ryan and Curtis; brother, Charles Schiefer, and his wife, Lynn, of Indiana, Pa.
Special thanks to Cousin Barbara Russ and family of Shallotte for a lifetime of kinship and support.
Memorial services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, March 26, at Shallotte Presbyterian Church.
In lieu of flowers, please consider her favorite charities: Shallotte Presbyterian Church, Lower Cape Fear Hospice or Duke Cancer Center.
