WILMINGTON — Brenda Jones Spencer, 72, died Thursday, March 9, 2017, at Lower Cape Fear Hospice, Wilmington. She was the wife of the late Edward Everette Spencer Jr. They had been married for 50 years.
Brenda was born Feb. 23, 1945, in Bladen County, N.C., a daughter of the late Ethel Deaver Jones. She worked in the culinary industry for 40 years and enjoyed cooking, traveling and going to the beach.
She is survived by two sons, Everette Heath Spencer (Amy) of Wilmington and Timothy Scott Spencer (Jennifer) of Riverview, Fla.; seven grandchildren, Whitney, Cameron, Sydney, Kacy, Shelbie, Nicholas and Anthony; five great-grandchildren, Keith, Mikaila, Brooke, Mason and Carter; and sister, Nancy Johnson of Rose Hill, N.C.
She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, three brothers and one sister.
A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, March 14, in Oleander Memorial Gardens with the Rev. Dodd Mays officiating.
