HAMPSTEAD — Paul Michael Pozzi, passed away Friday, March 10, 2017, at Duke University Medical Center, Durham, N.C.

He was born in McKees Rocks, Pa., Aug. 4, 1951, son of the late Orlando M. Pozzi and Elizabeth Drnarch Pozzi.

His associations included, Phi Theta Kappa National College Honor Society, ambassador for Cape Fear Community College, Knights of Columbus, Catholic fraternal organization for church and community charitable programs, Special Olympics Host Town Committee, Wilmington, New Hanover County Veterans Council representative for the Knights of Columbus, and was a member of All Saints Catholic Church Parish in Hampstead.

Paul attended Holy Trinity Catholic Grade School and graduated from Montour High School in 1969. He attended Career Academy and completed course of training in Radio and Television Broadcasting in 1970. He attended Allegheny Community College, majoring in Speech and Theater, and graduated with an associate degree in 1972. He attended Cape Fear Community College in Wilmington, N.C., and received an Associate Degree in Science and Technology Drafting and Design, graduating second in his class with honors. Paul continued his education in AutoCad Architectural Desktop through the 2007 edition. He was a project manager designer, senior draftsman and CADD technician.

Surviving are his wife of 29 years, Mary Jane Giebell Pozzi; children, Paul Michael Pozzi Jr. and his wife, Emily, of Pennsylvania, Starry Pleasants of West Virginia, Warren Douglas Pleasants of Vancouver, Wash., and Holly Bell-Hoover of West Virginia; grandchildren and great-grandchildren; brother, Henry Pozzi, and his wife, Barb, of Montana; and sister, Madonna Pozzi Schultz, and her husband, Richard, of Pennsylvania.

A brother, Thomas Pozzi, preceded him in death.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, March 14, at Andrews Mortuary Hampstead Chapel, Hampstead. (Phone: 910-270-3401) They will also receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, March 16, at Greco-Hertnick Funeral Home, 3219 Main Street, Weirton, W.Va. (Phone: 304-748-3219)

A funeral Mass will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, March 17, at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, 5718 Steubenville Pike, McKees Rocks, PA. Entombment will follow in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, 135 Gilson Ave., Weirton, W.Va.

A man of devotion to Jesus and Mary
A pure love for family and friends
A soul filled with God’s Love
An open heart for all, especially the
least among our Brothers.
He will be most sadly missed.
