WILMINGTON — Michelle Elizabeth King, 46, died Tuesday, March 21, 2017, at Duke University Hospital, Durham, N.C.
Michelle was born Feb. 18, 1971, in Wilmington, daughter of Ina Moore King and the late Mitchell Nerrell King.
Michelle was a graduate of Laney High School and Campbell University, and was currently enrolled in the Master’s Degree Program in Social Work at UNCW. She had been a medical social worker for Lower Cape Fear Hospice for the past 23 years.
In addition to her mother, she is survived by her son, Cameron King; daughter, Chelsea King; U.S. Army Sgt. Sonny Martino, who was raised like a son to her; several aunts and uncles; numerous cousins; and Ellie, her four-legged furry friend.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m., Friday, March 24, at Andrews Valley Chapel. A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m., Saturday, March 25, at Andrews Valley Chapel with the Rev. Mike Lewis officiating. Interment will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Park.
