WRIGHTSVILLE BEACH — Edward John Miastkowski, 76, died Saturday, April 8, 2017, at Carolina Bay HC of Wilmington.
He was born March 31, 1941, in Floral Park, N.Y., the son of the late Stanly and Catherine Miastkowski. Also remembered is his wife, Dona Wrede Miastkowski, who preceded him in death.
Ed graduated from Lenoir Rhyne University. He was a high school teacher in the New Hanover County Schools and served as an alderman in Wrightsville Beach for many years.
Surviving are his brother, John Miastkowski; sister, Jean Miastkowksi; nieces and nephews, Jeanie, John, Janet, Jimmy and Christopher; and 11 great-nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m., Tuesday, April 11, at Andrews Mortuary Valley Chapel. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at noon Wednesday, April 12, at St. Therese Catholic Church in Wrightsville Beach with burial following in Oleander Memorial Gardens.
