WILMINGTON — Wayne Lloyd, 74, passed away Tuesday, April 18, 2017, after a lengthy illness.
He leaves behind his loving wife of 37 years, Sandy; son, Rick, and his wife, Kim; daughter, Sharon; two grandchildren, Addison and Ava; and younger siblings, Bob, Kathy and Harold Jr.
Wayne took great pride in collecting stamps, starting the hobby when he was eight years of age. He also enjoyed collecting coins. He loved British movies and spy novels after spending four years in the U.S. Air Force while stationed in England. He loved his family and enjoyed them, as well as his two delightful granddaughters of whom he was so proud.
He especially loved his friends from Adult 3 whom he loved to entertain through skits and songs. Wayne was a very determined guy and not one to quit. He loved to walk outside. He met each day with a smile, breakfast, a bath and physical therapy … he also never forgot to thank God for his many blessings.
A visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m., Thursday, April 20, at Wilmington Funeral Chapel. A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, April 21, at Temple Baptist Church, Wilmington.
