LELAND — Ora A. “Rabbit” Morgan, 75, was called home by the lord Tuesday, April 18, 2017.
Rabbit was born in Jacksonville N.C. to Paul Johnson and Minnie Johnson on June 16, 1941. In October of 1956, she married her childhood sweetheart, Thomas M. Morgan, and through their union they were blessed with three beautiful children.
Rabbit, a woman of immense spirituality, was well known and greatly respected for her deep and unwavering faith. There is no question to those who knew and loved her that she had a direct connection to God. She made it her mission in life to minister to all those she encountered, which she did so with vigor.
She showed great devotion to the lord, it radiated from her, and through her efforts, she helped guide many to him. Without effort, she provided solace and bestowed spiritual wisdom to the ones in her life. She served her family and God to the best of her ability and asked little in return. She longed for little more than peace and happiness for those she loved. Always with a kind word and a heartfelt prayer, she remained strong for those around her and true to her faith throughout her days.
Mrs. Morgan was preceded in death by mother, Minnie Johnson; father, Paul Johnson; sister, Linda Borger; brother, Walt Johnson; husband, Thomas M. Morgan; and two sons, Danny Morgan and Tommy J. Morgan.
She is survived by her sister, Pat Powell; brother, Paul Johnson; daughter, Patricia Asbell; along with multiple loving grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m., Friday, April 21, at Wilmington Funeral & Cremation, 525 Village Road, Leland. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, April 22, at The Bridge of Life Community Church, 2220 Mercantile Drive N.E., Leland, with Jerome Bullard and Tim Rausch officiating. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, the family humbly asks that memorial donations be made in memory of Ora A. Morgan to the Lower Cape Fear Hospice & LifeCare Center.
