

ASH — Sally Anne Guest Danker, 83, passed away Friday, April 21, 2017.
She was born in Ohio Sept. 19, 1933, the daughter of the late Brigadier General Wesley Tate Guest and Annie Hamilton Guest.
Sally graduated from Fairfax Hall High School in 1951 and she was an alumna of Mount Vernon College. Among her many endeavors, she was a secretary with Ford, co-owner of Danker’s Restaurant in Washington, D.C., self-employed typesetter and cherished nanny. She was also an accomplished bowler and avid animal lover – especially elephants! She never met a stranger and she blessed all those she came in contact with. She took many under her wing whom considered her Mom number 2.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, George B. Danker.
She was the beloved mother of son, George B. Danker Jr. (Karen) of Chesapeake, Va.; and daughters, Laurie Babson (Toby) of Ash, N.C., and Lynne Boggs (Dan) of Farmville, Va. She was the beloved grandmother of eight grandchildren and beloved great-grandmother of five great-grandchildren; and cousin to Penny Strandberg and Andy Hamilton.
A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m., Monday, April 24, at Brunswick Funeral Service Chapel, 5229 Ocean Highway, Shallotte. A private inurnment will take place at Northwood Cemetery in Southport, N.C., at a later date.
