
MYRTLE BEACH — Herman “Jeff” Howell, 55, formerly of Hampstead, born Nov. 2, 1961, in Chicago, Ill., passed away May 6, 2017, at MUSC Hospital in Charleston, S.C. He is with God now.
Jeff was the beloved husband of Debbie Jean “Blondie” Howell; son of Jerry Dean Howell and late Geraldine Knight Howell; and loving brother of Perry Howell and Russell Howell.
He is survived by his wife, Debbie; father, Jerry; children, Rachel Howell, Shannon Howell, Cecelia Howell, Peggie, Mandie and Tyler; nieces and nephews, Josh, Elizabeth, Dean, Grace and Jake; and grandchildren, James, Ashlyn, Hunter, Alexia, Zack, Liam and Audrey.
He was preceded in death by his mother and grandparents.
Herman Jeffery Howell was a staff sergeant in the U.S. Air Force active duty from 1982 to 1995. He was also the former owner of J&J’s Village Cafe and The Wild Hawg Saloon, both in Hampstead. Jeff loved riding his Harley Davidson Ultra Classic, hunting and fishing.
Memorial services will be held at 1 p.m., Saturday, May 13, at Andrews Mortuary Chapel, Hampstead. Visitation will be held from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., prior to services. Burial, with military honors, will be held in Sea Lawn Memorial Park, Hampstead.
He will be loved and missed dearly from all of his family, friends and fellow Harley Davidson biker brothers. Always rubber side down and ride free like an eagle in the sky.
