Kayte Chauncey Dixon, 94, enjoyed working with flowers

BOLIVIA — Kayte Chauncey Dixon, 94, of Bolivia, passed away Thursday, Oct. 6, 2016.

Mrs. Dixon was born Feb. 4, 1922, in Whiteville, the daughter of the late Samuel and Julia Chauncey of Lake Waccamaw. She was a charter member of Ocean View United Methodist Church on Oak Island. She moved from Oak Island to the Mill Creek area of Bolivia in 1990 following the passing of her husband. Mrs. Dixon was a very loving mother and grandmother and enjoyed working in her yard and with her flowers.

Survivors include two sons, Archie Dixon and wife Anne of Winston – Salem, and Donald Dixon Sr. and wife Irene of Bolivia; a daughter Judy Dixon Wehler and husband Wolfgang of Palm Beach Gardens, Fla.; seven grandchildren; and twenty one great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Archie Alton Dixon; two sisters; and two brothers.

The funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 12, 2016 in the Peacock – Newnam & White Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Anthony Clemmons officiating.

The family will receive friends from 9-10 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial will follow in the Northwood Cemetery.
