SHALLOTTE — Nadyne Meldahl, formerly of Granville Ohio, passed away Nov. 3, 2016, at her residence in Shallotte, N.C. She was 91.
She was preceded in death by her husband Bob Meldahl Sr. and her youngest son, Tony Meldahl. She is survived by daughter Karen West of Ocean Isle Beach, N.C.; son Bob Meldahl and daughter-in-law, Bobbi Meldahl, of Newark Ohio; as well as six grandchildren; and 3 great-grandchildren.
Nadyne’s passion was teaching school. She completed college while raising her young family. She earned a master’s degree at The Ohio State University and was a Jennings Scholar. She taught in Marion and Alexandria, Ohio and in the Newark City Schools at Miller Elementary.
She was born in Evansville, Indiana, on May 12, 1925. She volunteered in the USO during WWII where she ,met a handsome young pilot, Bob Sr., who became the love of her life. They were married for 64 years.
Brief services will be held at Arbor Landing in Shallotte, N.C., followed by private family interment in Evansville, Ind.
