

Kevin Patrick Frawley passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Tuesday, Dec. 13, 2016, at New Hanover Regional Medical Center. He was born to Martin and Anna Frawley on Jan. 18, 1940, in White Plains N.Y.
He graduated from White Plains High School in 1959 and from The State University of New York at Cortland in 1963 with a B.S. in Physical Education. His graduate work was pursued at NYU in the field of Guidance and Personnel. He began his teaching career at Mount Vernon High School, where he also coached swimming and wrestling. He moved to the Yorktown School District in Yorktown Heights, N.Y., where he enjoyed a long and successful career as a teacher and swim coach. He also coached the swimming and skiing programs of the Hendrick Hudson School District until his retirement in 1995.
With his wife, Diane, he moved from Montrose, N.Y., to The Cape, in Wilmington, N.C., upon retirement, where he enjoyed many years as a member of the Men’s Golf League. He was also an active member of Immaculate Conception Church.
He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Diane Dier Frawley; daughter, Karen Frawley Babb (Paul); son, Robert, and three grandchildren, Travis, Kyle and Kira.
He was preceded in death by his parents and four siblings.
A celebration of life Mass will be held at 9 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 14, at Immaculate Conception Church. A reception will follow at the church.
In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting memorial contributions to Lower Cape Fear Hospice Foundation, 1414 Physicians Drive, Wilmington, NC, 28401; or to a charity of one’s choice.
