WILMINGTON — Phyllis Ann LaVine, 73, passed peacefully at Lower Cape Fear Hospice on Tuesday, Dec. 13, 2016, surrounded by her family and close friends.
A loving grandmother, mother and sister, she enjoyed the beach. Born in Brunswick, Maine; grew up in the small town of Brushton, N.Y. Phyllis spent time in Florida, but finally settled in North Carolina with her daughter, Leah Barnello; and her grand-kids, Kyle, Josh and Katie Barnello. She is also survived by her brothers, Irving and Burton Peck. The smell of salty air and beach waves will be a loving reminder of their many good times together, each special in their own way.
Her prior work included healthcare and was well known for her loving ways.
There will be a celebration of life in April.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks you to consider the needs of the family, or make a donation to the Lower Cape Fear Hospice. An account has been set up at SECU in loving memory of Phyllis LaVine under her daughter’s name.
