

HAMPSTEAD — James Wallace “Jim” Neese, 82, died Sunday, Dec. 18, 2016, at Davis Health Care, Wilmington, N.C. He was born Feb. 17, 1934, to the late James Marshall Neese and Nellie May Bayse Neese.
Jim served in the U.S. Air Force for 20 years and worked for civil service in the Department of Defense for 18 years.
Born and raised in Pulaski, Va., he lived in Panama City, Fla., and also in Clearwater, Fla., for many years. He loved his family, and he also loved the beach. He was very proud of his country and our American flag.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Patsy Ellen Neese.
Survivors include his daughter, Vickie Edwards (Dave); son, James Neese (Lynda);and daughter, Becky Carlton (Ted); sisters, Betty Brown, Nancy Sharpe and Dreama Slone (Chris); grandchildren, Mike Edwards (Tara), David Edwards (Sherry), Cindy Marshall (Chris) and Amanda Carlton (Brandon); and 14 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild, Brayden Stratton.
The family will receive friends from 4 to 6 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 22, at Andrews Hampstead Chapel. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Dec. 23, at Andrews Hampstead Chapel with the Rev. Tom Male officiating. Burial will follow in Sea Lawn Memorial Park, Hampstead.
The family would like to ask that in lieu of flowers memorial donations be made to Davis Health Care or Lower Cape Fear Hospice.
