

SHALLOTTE — Doris Emma Hutchinson MacNichol, 96, departed peacefully from this life on Monday, Dec. 19, 2016.
Formerly of Mt. Laurel, N.J., she was a homemaker. Mrs. MacNichol was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 69 years, Burton MacNichol; brother, William B. Hutchinson Jr.; and son-in-law, Barry Bradshaw. She was born Jan. 31, 1920, in Pennsauken, N.J., to the late Estelle Mae Hutchinson and William B. Hutchinson Sr.
A devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother, she blessed her family with unconditional love her entire life. This is her legacy.
Those left to cherish her memory include her daughters, Judith Malone (Edward) of Calabash, N.C., and Suzanne Bradshaw of Travelers Rest, S.C.; three grandsons, Jeffrey Malone (Katherine) of Rutland, Maine; Craig Malone (Elizabeth) of Lansdowne, Va.; and Todd Bradshaw (Elizabeth) of Travelers Rest, S.C.; seven great-grandchildren, Stefania Malone and Chelsea Malone of Rutland, Maine, Caitlyn Malone and Nicholas Malone of Lansdowne, Va., Bailey Bradshaw of Statesville, N.C., and Anna Whitesides and Colby Bradshaw of Travelers Rest, S.C.; great-great-grandson, Noah Malone-Andes of Rutland, Maine; nephews, Scott MacNichol (Amy) of Mt. Laurel, N.J., and William Sudell (Chris) of Greenville, Del.; and niece, Cynthia Hutchinson Young of Las Cruces, N.M.
Doris’ love of life, family and friends filled her life with joy. Through reading, gardening, bridge, golf, family gatherings, tailgating at Eagles games with Burt and friends, her days were full of love, laughter and fun. She was a faithful and longtime member of Trinity Presbyterian Church, Cherry Hill, N.J. She moved to North Carolina in 2007 after Burt died to be near her girls. Everyone she met benefited from her kindness, her spirit and her wit. Doris lived a long and happy life and will be forever missed.
Memorial services will be conducted in NJ at the Gaskill-Brown Funeral Home, 33 West Maple Avenue, Merchantville, NJ on Tuesday, December 27, 2016. Friends and family may gather at 11 a.m. to 12:00 noon with prayer service at noon. Interment will be in Bethel Memorial Park, Pennsauken, NJ immediately following service.
