WILMINGTON — Rose Mary “Rosie” Shepard, 66, passed away peacefully on Sunday, Dec. 25, 2016.
Rosie was born and raised in Wilmington, N.C., by her parents, the late Bryant Henry and Marion Estel Sanders. She was also predeceased in death by her son, Thomas Bryant Shepard of Wilmington; and sister-in-law, Hope Shepard.
Surviving Rosie are her loving and faithful husband, Wayne Shepard; brothers, James B. Sanders and Michael H. Sanders, both of Hampstead; sister, Cathy Tunstall of Winnabow; sisters-in-law, Faith Hardee and Joy Batts, both of Wilmington; and dearest friend, Sister Mary.
Rosie was full of joy and laughter with a smile that radiated. She had a heart of gold that so many adored. Her biggest joy was baking. Even though she did the cooking for the residents at Woodbury Wellness in Hampstead, where later she too became a resident, she still loved the art of cooking and baking. Rosie felt like the staff and residents of Woodbury became part of her extended family. She will certainly be missed by all.
