CAROLINA BEACH — James M. Williams, 76, passed away Sunday, Jan. 1, 2017, at his home.
Jim was born on Jan. 27, 1940, to Ewing Frank Williams and Helen Thomas Williams. He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Martha Jean Murrary.
He is survived by his daughter, Jamie Williams of Wilmington; brother, Robert “Bobby” Williams of Carolina Beach; and several nieces and nephews.
Jim retired from the U.S. Coast Guard with the rank of chief petty officer, and later retired from the NCDOT Ferry Division. He was a Mason and Shriner.
