SUNSET BEACH — Robert Lewis Evans, 80, passed away Tuesday, Feb. 14, 2017.
Born in Brooklyn, N.Y., on Jan. 29, 1937, he was a son of the late David J. Evans and Isabelle Grofesik Evans. He retired from the Exxon Corporation.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Alice Weiss Evans, of Brooklyn, N.Y.; and sisters, Jean Evans Swenson of Tucson, Ariz., and Ann Evans Riley of Calverton, N.Y.
Surviving are his wife, Betty Hardison Evans; sons, Bob Evans Jr. (Marilyn) of Long Island, N.Y., Kenneth Evans (Marie) of Somers, N.Y., Keith Evans (Pamela) of Southport, Conn., Scott Evans (Charlene) of Long Island, N.Y., Christopher Evans of Delray Beach, Fla., and Bryan Riggsbee (Erin)of Park City, Utah; and daughter, Traci R. Norris (Steve) of Ash, N.C. Also surviving are his brother, William Evans (Barbara) of Rockville Center, N.Y.; sister, Betty Compton (Pete) of Rockville Center, N.Y.; and 19 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Services will be conducted at noon Monday, Feb. 20, in Oleander Memorial Gardens, Wilmington.
