WILMINGTON — Betty Ann Johnson Bordeaux, 76, died peacefully Friday, Feb. 17, 2017. She was born in Garland, N.C., daughter of the late Oscar Vance Johnson and Inez Bordeaux Johnson. Her husband, James Clayton Bordeaux, preceded her in death.
Betty enjoyed working at Hamricks Clothing Store and loved caring and cooking for her family, especially her grandchildren. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend.
She is survived by five children, Stephanie Carroll, Shelly Carney (Jym), Jimmy Bordeaux (Heather), Sherry Bordeaux and Faith Shepard; four grandchildren, Chris Benson, Kaleigh Bordeaux, Brianna Carney and Cameron Bordeaux; one great-granddaughter, Renee Benson; and Jackson Lee and Colton Freeman.
A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m., Wednesday, Feb. 22, at Andrews Market Street Chapel. Prior to the service, the family will receive friends from 1 p.m. until the service hour. Interment will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Park.
