Christopher Douglas Talent, 34, dependable friend who could always be counted on

WILMINGTON — Christopher Douglas Talent, 34, died Saturday, Feb. 18, 2017, at Lower Cape Fear Hospice after a long battle with cancer. He was born in Wilmington, N.C., Oct. 9, 1982.

Chris worked for G.E. Aircraft and was known as a dependable friend who could always be counted on. He enjoyed playing Xbox, spending time with family and friends and caring for his 2004 Tahoe.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Herron and Estelle Lee and Coy and Dora Tallent.

Survivors include his wife, Liz Talent; parents, Doug and Ruth Tallent; beloved dogs, Oscar and Oreo; father and mother-in-law, Mike and Mary Bradley; brother-in-law, Michael Bradley; and many aunts, uncles and cousins.

A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m., Tuesday, Feb. 21, at Long Leaf Baptist Church, 317 Shipyard Blvd., Wilmington, with Pastors Joshua Reilly, Clayton Rivenbark and Rudy Shepard. The family will receive visitors one hour prior to the service beginning at 1 p.m. Pallbearers will be ‘Smalls’ Little, David Cochran, James Mulkey, Kevin Ellison, Tim Gainey and Michael Bradley. Burial will take place in Greenlawn Memorial Park following the service.

Those wishing to honor Chris’s memory are invited to send flowers or make donations to Lower Cape Fear Hospice.
