BOILING SPRING LAKES — Joan Luce, 82, died Sunday, Feb. 26, 2017, at her home.
Joan was born in New York City on Nov. 27, 1934, and was the daughter of the late Hermann H. and Sophie Adele Bielefeld Budelmann. She was a secretary at Dosher Memorial Hospital in Southport for 15 years.
She was always devoted to her family and church. While living in Long Island, N.Y., she was a very active member of St. James United Methodist Church, where she served in many capacities. She served as a teacher’s aide for many years. She was a member of Bethel United Methodist Church in Bolivia and was a member of the choir.
She is survived by three children, Glenn Luce, Diana Luce and Wayne Luce; four grandchildren, Meghan Luce, Stephanie Luce, Victoria Luce and Evan Luce; brother, Ben Budelmann; and sister, Helen Jacobsen.
A celebration of life service will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, March 4, at Bethel United Methodist Church, Old Ocean Highway, Bolivia.
