WILMINGTON — Katherine Hudson Evans, 65, passed away Wednesday, March 1, 2017.
She was born Feb. 5, 1952, to Norman Eldridge Hudson Jr. and Hazel Brown Hudson Stroud, who both preceded her in death. Kathy had retired from BB&T Insurance after 20 years of service.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her stepfather, Leo K. Stroud.
She is survived by her daughters, Lara Evans Smith of Wilmington and Laney Evans Engay (Ed) of California; sisters, Janice Dixon (Tom) and Terri Mann (Andy), both of Wilmington; brother, Randall Eldridge Hudson (Doris Frey) of Hampstead; stepsisters, Lea Mansur (E.J.) and family and Kathy Lowe; grandchildren, Robert McCarroll Jr. and Kara Ward of Wilmington; great-grandchild, Evelyn McCarroll of Wilmington; nephew, Chris Ussery; nieces, Kim Ussery, Gabrielle Hudson and Anna Mann; and her beloved friend, Carol Jernigan, who had always been by her side.
Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, March 3, at Coble Ward-Smith Funeral Home. A funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 4, at Coble Ward-Smith Funeral Home with Father Dan Whitt officiating. Burial will follow in Oleander Memorial Gardens.
