

LELAND – Ronnie “Shorty” Boswell, 64, of Leland, passed away with his family and friends at his bedside at New Hanover Regional Medical Center on Sept. 4, 2016.
He was born Oct. 19, 1951, in Loris South Carolina.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Hance C. Boswell and Estelene Hardee Boswell and a brother and law, Donald Bolduc.
Survivors include his loving wife, Phyllis; daughter, Crystal; grandchildren Alexis and Brandon Boswell; sisters, Karen Holley (Greg) and Sue Orr; and nieces and nephews, Cassandra Lester, Damon Bolduc, Summer Toth and Quintin Holley.
Shorty was a dedicated member of the Southern Cruisers Riding Club chapter 162. He had held positions as, road captain, first officer, and a member of Eagle Rescue. He rode to live and lived to ride.
He was employed by Hampton Inn on 16th Street in Wilmington.
He will be missed by all who knew him. His infections smile, joyful laughter, and huge heart made everyone feel welcomed. He was such an inspiration to all. “Lord thank you for letting me be a biker”
A memorial service will be held Saturday Sept. 10, 2016 at Andrews Valley Chapel 4108 South College Road, Wilmington. Family will receive friends beginning at 3 p.m., service will be begin at 4 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.
