

CASTLE HAYNE — Frankie Mae Watson, 87, passed away at Bryan County Health & Rehab Nursing Home in Richmond Hill, Ga. She was a resident of BCH&R for five years and considered it her home.
Frankie was born in Sampson County, Clinton, N.C., on Jan. 27, 1930, to Henry and Stella Hudson. During her high school years, they moved to Wilmington, N.C., where she met and married Norwood E. Watson.
Frankie was preceded in death by her husband, Norwood (known as Johnnie all his life); and son, Louis David Watson (L.D.) She is survived by her son, Johnnie (Sylvia) Watson of Hampstead, N.C.; daughter, Rebecca (Lonnie) Vinson of Richmond Hill, Ga.; four grandchildren, Elizabeth (David) Beasley of Richmond Hill, Ga., Kristen Watson of Wilmington, N.C., Michael Vinson of Richmond Hill, Ga., and Laura Watson of Brooklyn, N.Y.; three great-grandchildren, Hailey Watson, Jeremiah Byrd and Logan Beasley; sister, Elneta Barnhill of Fayetteville, N.C.; and many other family and friends she loved dearly.
Frankie was an incredible person in so many ways. She had a strong faith in God and became a believer in Jesus Christ about 57 years ago. She had a way of showing her love to others through her smile. Frankie Mae Watson will be deeply missed.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m., Friday, March 31, at Coble Ward-Smith Funeral Home, 3915 Oleander Drive, Wilmington. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, April 1, at Coble Ward-Smith Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Scott Speer officiating from First Baptist Church Richmond Hill, Ga. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Park.
