WILMINGTON — Lauren Nicole “Niki” Poff, 25, passed away suddenly and unexpectedly Tuesday, April 25, 2017. She entered this world May 10, 1991, in Fayetteville, N.C., to Suzie Poff-Brown and the late Mark Chester Poff, who died before she was born.
She was also preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Robert and Connie Felber.
Niki is survived by her mother and stepfather Suzie and Bryan Brown of Stedman, N.C.; older sister, Candace Poff, and significant other Lauren Segur, of Wilmington, N.C.; younger brother, Tyler Brown of Stedman, N.C., paternal grandparents, Chester and Peggy Poff of Avon Park, Fla.; and her cats whom she loved and adored, Smokey and Taco. Additionally, she is survived by numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and loving friends from all over the country.
Niki was raised in Stedman, N.C., and graduated from Cape Fear High School in 2009 before attending Fayetteville Technical Community College and Cape Fear Community College.
She was a unique free spirit, never settling in one place for too long, and dreamed of living on a tropical island one day. Her love for sleep, music, Mexican food, art and the beach will never be forgotten by all who loved her.
Even her attitude will be missed by everyone. The ocean was where Niki found the most peace and happiness, so that is where her ashes will be spread. This will not be her final resting place; however, as she will always rest in the hearts of her beloved family and friends.
A celebration of life for Niki will be held at 2 p.m., Thursday, May 4, at Shell Island Resort, Wrightsville Beach, and will be open to everyone who knew and loved Niki, as well as family and friends of those who knew and loved her.
