

WILMINGTON — Patrizia Denton, 62, passed away Friday, Jan. 6, 2016, at New Hanover Regional Medical Center.
She was born April 10, 1954, in Naples, Italy, the daughter of Tommaso Parascandolo and Anna Amato Parascandolo.
Patrizia is survived by her husband, Joe Denton; children, Wesley Denton and Julian Denton; brothers, Paolo Parascandolo and Carlo Parascandolo, and his wife, Gabriela; and extended family.
Patrizia was an outgoing person who cherished time with her family and friends. She loved to host parties at “Villa Patrizia” and was an active founding member of the Princess Place Neighborhood Association.
She was a voracious reader who was a member of the “Bad Girls Book Club.” Also, being quite a wordsmith, she enjoyed writing and had translated several books from English to Italian.
Patrizia had worked with youth at the “Tot Spot” with YWCA and loved being the face of La Gemma’s Fine Italian Pastries.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 10, at Andrews Mortuary Market Street Chapel.
